Let the part covered in the journey with 15 km/hr be x km.
Part covered in the journey with 18 km/hr = (136-x) km
Time = Distance/Speed
8= x/15 + (136-x)/18
Taking LCM of 15 and 18
8= 5x/90+ 6(136-x)/90
8= (5x+816-6x)/90
8*90 = -x+816
96 = x
Part of trip covered at 18 km/hr = 136-96 = 40 km
Part covered in the journey with 18 km/hr = (136-x) km
Time = Distance/Speed
8= x/15 + (136-x)/18
Taking LCM of 15 and 18
8= 5x/90+ 6(136-x)/90
8= (5x+816-6x)/90
8*90 = -x+816
96 = x
Part of trip covered at 18 km/hr = 136-96 = 40 km
