Let distance be x kmph and speed y kmph.

∴Now, according to question,

⇒x/y - x/(y+3) = 40/ 60 ............ (i)

⇒x/(y-2) - x/y = 40/60 .............. (ii)

∴On solving Eqn (i) and (ii), we get

⇒y = 12 kmph.

⇒x = 40 km. ANS
