Speed for 1st 4 hours=30kmph
distance covered in this 4 hours=30*4=120km
total distance travelled=272 km
total time taken=8 hours
remaining dirtance=272-120=152 km
remaining time=4 hours
required speed=152/4=38kmph

The speed at which the man covered the remaining distance is 38 km/hr.

  • A  man covered a distance of 272 km in 8 hours.
  • Some part of the distance was covered at 30 km/hr and the remaining distance was covered in 4 hours at certain speed.
  • The time for which the man covered the distance at 30 km/hr is = 8 hr -4 hr = 4 hr.
  • The distance covered by the man at 30 km/hr will be

Distance = speed × time = 30 × 4 = 120 km

  • Remaining distance was covered in later 4 hours.
  • Remaining distance = 272 - 120 = 152 km.
  • Speed at which the man covered distance will be
  • Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

Speed = \frac{152}{4} = 38 km/hr.

  • The speed at which the man covered the remaining distance is 38 km/hr.
