The required ratio s:r is equal to  4:1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

x km distance a man covers in t hours at s km/hr.

\frac{x}{2} km distance another man in 2t hours at r km/hr.

To Find:

The required ratio s:r.

Formula Used:

p =  d/q                 ---------------- formula no.01

where

        p = speed

        d = distance covered

        q= time taken to cover distance

Solution:

As given- x km distance a man covers in t hours at s km/hr.

p =s km/hr , d=x km   and q= t  hours

putting value of p, d and t in formula no .01

 s=\frac{x}{t}

As given - \frac{x}{2}  km distance another man covers in 2t hours at r km/hr.

 p =r km/hr , d=\frac{x}{2} km   and q= 2t  hours

 putting value of p, d and t in formula no .01

 r= \frac{(\frac{x}{2} )}{2t}

 r= \frac{x}{4t}

The required ratio s:r = \frac{x}{t} :\frac{x}{4t}

                                s:r =  1 :\frac{1}{4}

                                s:r =  4 :1

Thus, the required ratio s:r is equal  to 4:1.
