Answer:

let the deposited amount is xRs

the interest of x Rs at 9% interest p.a. for 5 years

is x.5.9/100 Rs=9x/20 Rs

so,

9x/20=1620

9x=1620×20

x=1620×20/9

x=180×20=3600

deposit amount is 3600 Rs

The correct answer is Rs 3600.

Given: Rate of interest = 9%.

Time period = 5 years.

Simple interest = Rs 1620.

To Find: Principle amount.

Solution:

SI=\frac{PRT}{100}

Let the principle amount = P.

1620 = \frac{P*9*5}{100}

P = \frac{1620*100}{9*5}

P = Rs 3600.

Hence, the principle amount is Rs 3600.
