When the man started to dig the pit he was having more energy so he was able to dig the pit with ease. But as he continued to dig the pit he gradually started losing his energy. As he reached a depth of 5 feet his energy completely exhausted so he could not go any further deep.
This is the reason why he was unable to dig beyond 5 feet.

A man digging a pit, he sighed about 5 ft and can't mange to dig further because of the following reasons :

1. Might he get tired.

2. The post possible reason is that after digging soil to a 5 ft depth there will be bed rock area their which don't allow easy digging.
