Answer:

(1 km)/(1 hr) = (1 × km)/(1 × hr) = (1 × 1000 m)/(1 × 3600 s) = 1000 m/3600 s = 5/18 m/s

So u = (90 × 5)/18 = 25 m/s

v = 0 (car bought to rest).

Using kinematic eqn. v = u + at, we get

0=25+10a⟹a=−2.5

Now for displacement, we use the eqn

s=v2−u22a=0−625−5=125

Car has travelled 125 kms.
