A man drops a stone from the top of a tower . he hears the sound of the stone hitting the top of a 10 m high building after time 't' second. if the height of the top of the tower from ground is 55 m and the speed of sound in air is 333m/s then find the time after which he will again hear the sound (Take g=10m/s^2)

Answer:

Explanation:

So , here as the object is dropped , the initial velocity ,u is 0

Acceleration is the acceleration due to gravity ‘g’ which is constant and has value of 9.8m/ s2

Time travelled is given as t=10 seconds

Substituting the values in the equation s=ut+( 1/2) a t2 we get

s=0 * 10 + ( 1/2) * 9.8 * 10 *10

s=490 meters

So, the height of the tower is 490 meters
