A man earns Rs 600 per month more than his wife. One tenth of the man's salary and one sixth of the wife's salary amount to Rs. 1500, which is saved every month. find their monthly expenses.

let wife salary be x and man salary be x+600
then according to question
1/10(x+600)+1/6 (x)=1500
=x/10+60+x/6=1500
after taking lcm of 6and 10
6x+10x/60=1500-60
16x/60=1440
16x=1440×60
16x=8640
x=540
wife salary =540
men salary =540+600=1140
their total salary = 1140+540=1680
monthly expenses =total salary-savings
=1680-1500=180
