it's a very simple answer.

if a man finishes a work in 3 days and the other man finishes the same work in 5 days then the man who fineshes the work in 3days work faster because he is taking less time to do the the work. The difference between both men's work is 2days.

Ist man complete 1/3 part of work in a day. Another man complete 1/5 part of work in a day. Who works faster and by how much = 1/x. = 1/x =1/3-1/5

1/x = 2/15. x= 15/2 =7 1/2 = Ist man complete the work faster 7 1/2 times than another man.
