Let total sum be x. Then,
Amount to Son = 0.35x
Amount to Daughter = 0.25x
Remaining % is 100 - (35+25) = 40%
Amount to Charity = 50% of remaining
= 50% of (40% of x) = 0.2x
Amount he had now = x - (0.35x+0.25x+0.2x)
= 0.2x
Given, 0.2x = 2000
x = 2000/0.2 = Rs. 10,000
Amount to Son = 0.35x
Amount to Daughter = 0.25x
Remaining % is 100 - (35+25) = 40%
Amount to Charity = 50% of remaining
= 50% of (40% of x) = 0.2x
Amount he had now = x - (0.35x+0.25x+0.2x)
= 0.2x
Given, 0.2x = 2000
x = 2000/0.2 = Rs. 10,000
