Step-by-step explanation:

Profit percent = 20%

S.P. of the cycle = ₹2400

C.P. = ?

Let the C.P. be ₹x.

Therefore,

Profit = 20% of ₹x

= 20/100 × ₹x

= ₹x/5

S.P. = C.P. + Profit

=> 2400 = x + x/5

=> 2400 = (5x + x)/5

=> 2400 = 6x/5

=> 2400 × 5/6 = x

=> 2000 = x

So, the C.P. of the cycle is ₹2000.

In order to get 30% profit.....

C.P. = ₹2000

Profit percent = 30%

Profit = 30% of ₹2000

= 30/100 × ₹2000

= 3/10 × ₹2000

= ₹600

S.P. = C.P. + Profit

= ₹2000 + ₹600

= ₹2600

So, in order to get 30% profit, the man should sell the cycle at ₹2600.
