A man get rs 100 per day if he works but he is fined by rs 10 per day if he is absent. in the whole month of april he received rs 1900 only . how many days did he work.

If he was present everyday for the whole month.
Number of days in April = 30
So he would receive = 100×30 = ₹3000

But he received ₹1900.

Let's say he was absent for x days.
So instead of getting ₹100, he would lose ₹10 as fine.
So total loss in an absent day = ₹100 + ₹10 = ₹110.
Total loss in x days = 110×x = ₹110x


according to the question,
3000 - 110x = 1900
=> -110x = 1900 - 3000 = -1100
=> 110x = 1100
=> x = 1100/110
=> x = 10 days.

So he was absent for 10 days in April.

Let the man works for x days in April and he is absent for y days.

Since, April has total 30 days.

∴x+y=30 .........(1)

According to question:

100x−10y=1900⇒10x−y=190 ....(2)

Adding (1) and (2). we get,

11x=220

∴x=20

Hence the man worked for 20 days in April
