let man has 100%
after giving 40% of his children man had 100-40=60
20% of 60 is 12
therefore atlast man had 48%
if 48%=9600
100%=20000
origiñally man have 2000 rs

Let the initial Income be x
Man gives 40% to children = 40% of x
He gives 20% of remaining to atrust = 20% of ( x - 40% of x)
Savings = 9600
So we can formulate an equation
(x- 40%of x)- 20%(x- 40%of x) = 9600
(x -0.4x) - 20%( x - 0.4x) = 9600
(x - 0.4x) - 20%of x - 20%(-0.4x) = 9600
0.6x - 0.2x -(-0.08x) = 9600
0.4x +0.08x = 9600
0.48x = 9600
x = 9600/0.48
x = 20000 is the initial Income
Man gives 40% to children = 40% of x
He gives 20% of remaining to atrust = 20% of ( x - 40% of x)
Savings = 9600
So we can formulate an equation
(x- 40%of x)- 20%(x- 40%of x) = 9600
(x -0.4x) - 20%( x - 0.4x) = 9600
(x - 0.4x) - 20%of x - 20%(-0.4x) = 9600
0.6x - 0.2x -(-0.08x) = 9600
0.4x +0.08x = 9600
0.48x = 9600
x = 9600/0.48
x = 20000 is the initial Income
