Hey buddy! Here's your answer!

In this triangle,

a = 12 m

b = 5 m

As it goes East first and then turns to North, it turns through 90°, forming a right angled triangle.

By using Pythagoras,

a² + b² = c²

12² + 5² = c²

144 + 25 = c²

169 = c²

c = 13 m

Hope this helps! :)

Displacement is the shortest path between initial and final point.
