so we apply phytagoras theorem

  {h}^{2}  =  {p}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}

p = 24 m

b = 7 m

then

 {h}^{2}  =  {24}^{2}  +  {7}^{2}  \\ h =  \sqrt{576 + 49 }  \\ h =  \sqrt{625 }  \\ h = 25m

thus, his distance from starting point is 25m
