The total amount of fuel used uphill:

60 / 10 = 6litres

Total amount used downhill :

60/15 = 4 litres

Average mileage per litre of fuel is :

= Total distance covered ÷ total fuel used.

Total distance = 60 × 2 = 120km

Total amount of fuel = 4 + 6 = 10 litres

Average mileage :

= 120/10 = 12

12 km/litre
