= according to question ,

his new salary = x+10% of x

=> rs 15400 = x + 10/100×x

=> 15400 = x + 1/10×x

=> 15400 = x+x/10

=> 15400 = (10x+x)/10

=> 15400 = 11x/10

=> 15400×10/11 = x

=> 154000/11 = x

=> rs 14000 = x

thus , his original salary = rs 14,000
