Hope this will help.

Suppose the original salary of man is x.

Then new salary will be x + 10% of x.

But the new salary is 15,400 rs.

Thus 15,400= x + 10% of x
15,400= x + 10x/100
15,400= x + x/10
Taking L.C.M. on RHS
15,400=10x + x / 10
15,400 × 10 = 11x

Therefore x = 14,000

Thus the original salary of man is 14,000Rs.

Given question:-

A man got a 10%increase in his salary.if his new salary is Rs 1,5,400

To find:-

find his original salary

Hence:-

Let ₹100 be his orginal salary.

New salary

10% = 100 + 100 = ₹110

Hence, 100 new salary of 110

So,1 = 100/110

= 100/110 × 15400 = ₹ 1,40,000

Hence, 1,40,000 is the orginal salary.
