Given:

  • A man gave 20% of its money to his eldest son.
  • 30% of its money to his younger son.
  • 10% remaining for poor boys in the school.
  • Still he has Rs.100.80.

To Find:

  • Find his total amount = ?

Solution:

Let the total sum of money be Rs.100.

He gave 20% to his eldest son.

Eldest son recieved = Rs.20

Remaining Rs.80

He gave 30% of Rs.60 to his youngest son

Youngest son recieved = Rs.

 \sf \: 80 \times \frac{30}{100} = 24rupees

Remaining balance = Rs 100 -44 = 56 rupees

He gave 10% of 56 to poor boys

Poor boys received =

 \sf \: 56 \times \frac{10}{100} = 5.60 \: rupees

Total amount he distribute = Rs.100-49.60 = Rs.50.40

If the amount at hand is Rs.50.40,the total amount is Rs.100.

If the amount at hand is Rs.100.80,the total amount is

 \sf \: 100 \times \frac{100.80}{50.40} = 100 \times 2 = 200 \: rupees
