A man had Rs. 15000. He used some of that money to buy two mobile phones, and then sold them both for Rs. 6000 each. He made a profit of 20% on one and a loss of 20% on the other. How many rupees does he have left now?

total amount=15000
selling price=6000each
cost price=5000rs (1) and 7500rs(2)
so total spend amount=12500
now subtract total amount with cost price
15000-12500=2500

Answer:

He left with 14500

Step-by-step explanation:

SP of both mobile is  Rs. 6000 each.

Case 1)

SP of mobile 1 = Rs.6000

Loss% = 20%

CP=\frac{SP \times 100}{100-L\%}

CP=\frac{6000 \times 100}{100-20}

CP=7500

Loss = CP - SP = Rs. 7500-Rs.6000=Rs.1500

So, cost price of mobile 1 is Rs. 7500

Case 2)

SP of mobile 2= Rs.6000

Profit% = 20%

CP=\frac{SP \times 100}{100+P\%}

CP=\frac{6000 \times 100}{100+20}

CP=5000

Profit = SP-CP = Rs.6000-Rs.5000 = Rs. 1000

So, cost price of mobile 2 is Rs.5000

So, Total cost price = Rs.7500+Rs.5000=Rs.12500

A man had Rs. 15000

He left with money when he bought two phones = 15000-12500=2500

Now he sold two mobile phones at Rs.6000 each

So, he left with amount = Rs. 2500+Rs.6000+Rs.6000 =Rs.14500

Hence he left with 14500
