- The age of father is 45 years.
Given :–
- A man's age is thrice the sun of age of his two sons.
- After five years, the father's age will be twice the sun of the ages of his son.
To Find :–
- Present age of father.
Solution :–
Let,
• The sum of ages of two sons be x.
• Age of father be 3x because his age is thrice the sum of age of his sons.
After five years,
• The age of father be (3x + 5)
• The sum of age of his sons be (x + 2 × 5) = (x + 10)
According to the given condition,
After five years, the age of father will be twice of the sum no the ages of his sons.
➫ (3x + 5) = 2(x + 10)
➫ 3x + 5 = 2x + 20
➫ 3x – 2x = 20 – 5
➫ 1x = 15
➫ x = 15
So,
• Age of father = 3x = 3 × 15 = 45 years.
Hence,
The present age of father is 45 years.
