Let the present age of 1st son : A years
the present age of 2nd son : B years
the present age of 3rd son : C years
the present age of 4th son : D years
the present age of 5th son : E years

Therefore, the equation states that

A + B + C + D + E = Father's age

After 12 years the sum of 5 sons age is equal to double the father’s age
(A + 12) + (B + 12) + (C + 12) + (D + 12) + (E + 12) = 2(Father's age)
(A + B + C + D + E) + (5 x 12) = 2(Father's age)
= (Father's age) + 60 = 2(Father's age)
= 60 = 2(Father's age) - (Father's age)
= 60 = Father's age
Therefore, Father's age is 60 Years

Answer:

Answer is 36

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the 5 Son's Age: A, B ,C , D , E

LET FATHER'S AGE= X YEARS

A+B+C+D+E= X......(1)

A+12+B+12+C+12+D+12+E+12= 2(X+12)

A+B+C+D+E + 60 = 2X +24

USING EQN 1

X+60= 2X +24

60-24= 2X-X

36 = X
