Given x+y=70. -----(1)

10x+20y=900

x+2y=90. ------(2)

From equation (1) x=70-y put it in eq.(2)

Then 70-y+2y=90

y=20

so x=70-y=70-20=50.

Check:

put value of x & y in eq (1) & (2)

(1)=50+20=70

(2)=10(50)+20(20)=900.

Hope U understood it.

Answer:Let no. of 10 rs. notes be x.

Let no. of 20 rs. notes be y.

Total no.of notes =70

Total money=900rs.

Step-by-step explanation:

x+y=70 .....(i)

10x+20y=900 ......(ii)

In eq (i)

x=70-y ........(iii)

Keeping value of x from eq (iii) in eq.(ii)

10(70-y)+20y=900

700-10y+20y=900

10y=200

y=200/(10)

y= 20 .....(iv)

Keep value of y from eq (iv) in eq(iii)

x=70-20

x=50

No. of 10rs notes is 50 and 20rs notes is 20.
