a man has ₹8000 part of which he lent at 5% and the rest at 4% the whole interest received was ₹390 in 1 year . How much did he lent at 4%?

Let he lent x ruppees at 5%

So the amount which lent at 4% will be 8000 - x

Now as per question

\frac{x*5}{100} + \frac{(8000-x)*4}{100} = 390

\frac{5x}{100} + \frac{32000 - 4x}{100} = 390

5x - 32000 - 4x = 39000

So x = 7000

That means the amount which is lent at 4% is (8000 - 7000) = 1000 (Ans)
