The kinetic energy gained by the man is  20 J.

Explanation:

When the man runs with the box :

Mass "m"  =  10  k g

With a velocity of V = 2 m/s

It gains K.E as :

K.E =  1 /2 m v 2

=  1 /2  ×  10  ×  (2 )^ 2 =  20  J

Thus the kinetic energy gained by the man is  20 J.

Given :

  • Mass of box (m) = 10 kg
  • Velocity (v) = 2 m/s

To Find :

  • Kinetic Energy

Solution :

We have formula for Kinetic Energy :

\large {\boxed{\sf{K.E \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} mv^2}}} \\ \\ \implies {\sf{K.E \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \: \times \: 10 \: \times \: 2^2}} \\ \\ \implies {\sf{K.E \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \: \times \: 10 \: \times \: 4}} \\ \\ \implies {\sf{K.E \: = \: \dfrac{1}{2} \: \times \: 40}} \\ \\ \implies {\sf{K.E \: = \: 20}} \\ \\ {\underline{\sf{\therefore \: Kinetic \: Energy \: is \: 20 \: J}}}
