flaviasaldanha: See, let's take hemophilia as an example. If a father is affected, his daughters will be carriers of hemophilia A and his sons will be unaffected. The question you've asked is 'who will inherit the chromosome'. In the first gen the daughters will be the carrier, I.e they will 'inherit' the chromosome. In the second gen with a female carrier and a normal male, the daughters will be carriers and the sons will be 'affected' with hemophilia.
