let the number of children visited on Saturday = x

100 candies were distributed among x children

so each child gets (100÷x) candies

when 5 more kids join each child gets {100÷(x+5)}candies

it is given that on Sunday each child got 1 less candy

so, 100/x   -100/x+5   =   1

   on solving we get  x = 20

therefore 20 children visited on saturday
