Question

A man has Rs. 150/-. He gives 2/5 of his money to his son and 1/3 of his money to his daughter. Who received more and by how much?

 \bold { \underline{ \underline \orange{answer}}} \orange→

Let the money he had be x.

The person spent half of the money on clothing i.e x/2.

2/3rd of money spent on clothing is used for food.

I.e 2/3*x/2 = 2x/6.

 \bold { \underline{ \underline \orange{solution}}} \orange→

Total money - money for food-money for clothing = .

x-x/2–2x/6 = 100.

x=100+x/2+2x/6

Take LCM.

x=100+(6x+4x)/12

x=(1200+10x)/12

12x=1200 +10x

2x=1200

x=600.
