The man has a total of 36 notes. Sloution-
As given the number of all notes is equal let them be x then the equation will be :-
1x + 5x + 20x = 312, which after solving gives x=12. Now, add x three times which means x+x+x because there were three kinds of note which will give 36 as your answer.
