The position of the image is 30cm and the magnification is 2. So, the image formed is magnified, virtual and erect.

Explanation:

A Shaving mirror is always a concave mirror.

f = -30cm

u = -15cm

As per the formula of mirror,

 \frac{1}{f}  = \frac{1}{v} +\frac{1}{u}

\frac{1}{-30} = \frac{1}{v} +\frac{1}{-15}

\frac{-1}{30} +\frac{1}{15} =\frac{1}{v}

v = 30cm.

So, the position of the image is 30cm.

According to the formula of magnification,

\frac{-v}{u} = \frac{-(30)}{-15} = 2

Thus, the image is magnified, virtual and erect.

Answer:

Given:- R=60cm , f=-30cm, U=-15cm

1/v+1/u =1/f

1/v + 1/-15 =1/-30

1/v=1/15+1/-30

1/v=2-1/30

1/v=1/30

V=30

M=-v/u

M=-30/-15

M=+2
