I manually solved each combination.
              investment      interest
1st          2,200   4%     88.00
2nd         1,300   5%     65.00
total        3,500            153.00

2,200 x 4% x 1 year = 88
1,300 x 5% x 1 year = 65

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A man invested Rs.3500, part of it at a yearly interest rate of 4% and rest at 5%.

To Find : He received a total anual interest of Rs.153. How much did he invest at each rate.

Solution :

Let x be the amount he invested at 4%

So, the amount he invested at 5% is 3500-x

Now we are given that He received a total annual interest of Rs.153.

Formula : SI =\frac{P \times R \times T}{100}

So,\frac{x \times 4 \times 1}{100} +\frac{(3500-x) \times 5 \times 1}{100}=153

\frac{3500-x}{20}+\frac{x}{25}=153

x=2200

He  invested Rs.2200 at 4%

He invested amount at 5 % = 3500-2200 = Rs.1300

Hence He invested Rs.220 and Rs.1300 at 4% and 5% respectively
