Let him invest Rs. "x" in bond 1. So, he invests Rs. 30000-x" in bond 2. We know :
            \frac{5x}{100} + \frac{7(30000-x)}{100} =2000 \\ \\ \frac{5x}{100}+ \frac{210000-7x}{100} =2000 \\ \\ -2x +210000= 200000 \\ \\ 2x= 10000 \\ \\ x=Rs. 5000
and y = Rs. 25000
So, the man invested Rs. 5000 in Bond 1 and Rs. 25000 in Bond 2.
