The first kind of shares bought at Rs.10400 at Rs. 104 would mean a total of 100 shares (we get this by dividing 10400 by 104)

Similarly the second kind of shares bought at Rs.11440 at Rs. 143 would mean a total of 80 shares (we get this by dividing 11440 by 143)

Total Income would be = [(104 × 6%)×100] + [(143 × 10.4%)×100]
= 624 + 1189.76 = Rs. 1813.76
