The no. of shares purchased are 500.

Investment=RS 22,500,
N.V= RS 50,
discount=10%.
discount amount= 10/*50
= 5 RS.
M.V= F.V.- discount amount
= 50-5
=45.
No of shares= investment/ M.V.
=22500/45
=500.
