Let man = x+20
son = x
after 10 years ,
man = x+20+10 = x+30
son = x+10
man = 2(son)
x+30= 2(x+10)
x+30= 2x +20
x-2x = 20-30
-x = -10
x = 10
son age is x
man age is 30

ANSWER:-

Given:

A man is 20 year elder to his son after 10 years his age becomes twice the age of his son.

To find:

Their present ages.

Explanation:

Let the present age of the son be R years.

Let the present age of the father be R+20 years.

  • After ten years;

The father age twice the age of his son.

⇒ R+20+10= 2(R+10)

⇒ R+30= 2R+20

⇒ R-2R= 20-30

⇒ -R= -10

⇒ R= 10 years.

Thus,

  • The present age of the son is 10 years.
  • The present age of the father is 10+20=30 years.
