Solution:

Let the age of man be ‘m’ years.

The age of his son be ‘s’ years.

According to the question,

Man is 24 years older than his son

⇒m = s + 24 ---- (Eq.1)

After 2 years

Man's age = m + 2

Son's age = s + 2

Now,

(m + 2) = 2(s + 2)

⇒m + 2 = 2s + 4

⇒ m = 2s + 2. (Subtract 2 on both sides)----(Eq.2)

Equating Equation 1 and 2

2s + 2 = s + 24

⇒2s - s = 24 - 2

⇒ s = 22 years.

Therefore age of son = 22 years

m = s + 24

⇒ m = 22 + 24

⇒ m = 46 years

Therefore age of man =46 years
