let the age of son=X
then age of man =X+24

according to question
2(4+X)=(4+X+24)
8+2x=28+X
X=20

son age=20
man age =20+24=44

Answer:

The present age of man is 44 years and his son is 20 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let thye present age of the man be 'x' years and his son be 'y' years,

A man is 24 yrs older than his son.

∴ x = y + 24 → 1

In 4 yrs, his age will be twice the age of his son.

      ∴ x + 4 = 2(y + 4)

 y + 24 + 4 = 2y + 8                (From 1)

        y + 28 = 2y + 8

         y - 2y = 8 - 28

               -y = -20

y = 20

x = y + 24

  = 20 + 24

x = 44.

∴The present age of man is 44 years and the present age of his son is 20 years.
