Let the son's age be x

So, age of man = x + 28

Age of man after 10 years = x + 28 + 10

Age of son after 10 years = x + 10

After 10 years, man will be thrice the age of son = 3(x + 10)

According to the question,

x + 28 + 10 = 3(x + 10)

x + 38 = 3x + 30

x - 3x = 30 - 38

-2x = -8

x = \dfrac{-8}{-2}

x = 4

Present age of son => x

=> 4 years

Present age of man => x + 28

=> 4 + 28

=> 32 years

Here is your solutions

Let the son's age be x

Age of man is 28 more than son
i.e
Age of man = x + 28

Age of man after 10 years
I.e
x + 28 + 10 = x +38

Age of son after 10 years
I.e
x + 10

Again

After 10 years, man will be thrice the age of son = 3(x + 10)

A/q

=>x + 28 + 10= 3(x + 10)

=>x + 38 = 3x + 30

=>x - 3x = 30 - 38

=>-2x = -8

=>x = 4

Hence,

Present age of son = x = 4 years✔

Present age of man = x + 28 = 32 years✔

Hope it helps you
