\bold{\underline{Question:}}

A man is 28 years older than his son after 10 years his age will be twice the age of his son. Find their present ages.

\bold{\underline{Solution:}}

\bold{\textsf{Let the son's age be x years.}}\\\\\\\bold{\textsf{So father's age = (x+28) years.}}

After 10 years ,

  • The son's age = ( x+10) years.
  • The father's age = (x+28+10) = (x+38) years.

According to question ,

\implies{\bold{(x+10)2=x+38}}\\\\\\\implies{\bold{2x+20=x+38}}\\\\\\\implies{\bold{2x-x=38-20}}\\\\\\\implies{\bold{x=18}}\\\\\\\bold{\boxed{\textsf{Son's age = x = 18 years.}}}\\\\\\\bold{\boxed{\textsf{Father's age = x+28 = 18 +28 = 46 years.}}}
