A man is 3 times as old as his son. After 15 years he will be only twice as old as his son. Find thier present ages.

let the age of man be x and son be y.
A/Q,
x = 3y. (1)
x+15 =2(y+15). (2)
putting the value of x in (2).
3y+15 = 2y +30
y = 15
putting the value of y in (1).
x = 2x15 =30
therefore age of man =x = 30 years and age of son = y = 15 years.
