A man is 3 times older than his son. 6 years before he was 5 timesolder than his son. when his son will be twice his age, the fatherwill also be twice his age. what is the age of father when son wasborn.

father age = 3x years

son's age = ( x - 6 ) years

father's age = ( 3x - 6 ) years

father age = 5 times of son's age

3x - 6 = 5 ( x - 6 )

3x - 6 = 5x - 30

- 6 + 30 = 5x - 3x

24 = 2x

2x = 24

x = 24 / 2

x = 12

at present
________

son's age = x = 12 years

father's age = 3x = 3 × 12 = 36 years

age of the father when son birth = 36 - 12

= 24 years
