let the present age of son be x
then the present age of father will be x + 30
after 12 years,
the father's age will be X + 30 + 12 = X + 42
the son's age will be X + 12
2 (x+12) = x+42
2x+24=x+42
2x-x=42-24
x=18
the present age of son is x that is 18
the present age of father is X +30 that is 18 + 30 which is equals to 48
I hope that it will help you

Dear friend,

Let the present age of child be x yrs
Let the present age of man be 30 + x yrs.

After 12 yrs,
Child's age = x + 12
Man's age = (x + 30) + 12 = x + 42

Present ages,
Man's age is two times child's age,

2 × (x + 12) = x + 42
2x + 24 = x + 42
2x - x = 42 - 14
x = 18

Then,
Child's age = x = 18 yrs.
Man's age = 30 + x = 30 + 18 = 48 yrs.

Answer. Child's age is 18 yrs and Man's age is 48 yrs.

Hope it helps !!!
