Step-by-step explanation

Man's present age : 32 years

Son’s present age : 5 years

After ‘x’ years from now Father's age will be 4 times the age of the Son.

Therefore,

4(5+x) = 32+x

20+4x = 32+x

4x-x = 32–20

3x =12

x = 12/3

x = 4

That means after 4 years the father’s age will be 32+4 = 36 and son’s age will be 5+4 = 9 years.

Let the father age be (32+x)

The son age be (5+x)

A.T.Q,

32+x =4 (5+x)

32+x = 20+4x

32-20 = 4x-x

12 = 3x

x = 12÷3

x=4 years
