Answer:

Man= 32

Son=8

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of son be x

then father=4x

and after 16 years i.e +16

father=2x

thus equation will be

4x+16=2x

4x-2x=16 ( variable on one side constant on other)

2x=16

x=8

Thus answer will be 8

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of man be x and his son's age be y

ATQ,

x=4y-----1

After 16 years,

x+16=2(y+16)

x+16=2y+32

x-2y=16-----2

Substituting eqs 1 in 2

x-2y=16

4y-2y=16

2y=16

y=8 years

From 1,

x=4y

x=4×8

x=32 years

Therefore the present age of man if 32 years and his son is 8 years.
