Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let father's age be x

Let son's age be y

Given:

Father's age x = 4×son's age y

ie x = 4y ___ (1)

After 16 years

Father's age will be x+16

Son's age will be. y +16

Father's age after 16 years

x+16 = 2×(y+16)

x+16=2y+32

x-2y-16=0 _____ (2)

substituting the value of x from eqn 1

4y-2y=16

2y=16

y=8

Substituting the value of y in eqn 1

x=4y

X=4×8

X=32

Father's age = 32years

Son's age. = 8 years
