Answer: Son's age= 8 years

Father's present age = 24 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Son's present age = x

Father's present age = 4x

So after 16 years the son's age will be x+16 and father's she will be 4x+16

But also according to the question the father will be twice as old as his son after 16 years

Therefore the father's age after 16 years can also be 2(x+16)

So, 2(x+16)=4x+16

2x+32=4x+16

16=2x

x=8

Therefore the son's present age is 8 years and fathers age is 4×8 = 32 years.

Answer:

man's age=4x

his son's age =x

After,16years

son's age = x+16

man's age = 4x+16

ATP,

2(x+16)=4x+16

2x+32=4x+16

2x-4x=16-32

-2x=-16

2x=16

x=16/2

x=8

son's age=8years

man's age=4*8

=32years
