A man is climbing up a mountain which is inclined. He has to travel 100 km to reach the top of the mountain. Every day He climbs up 2 km forward in the day time. Exhausted, he then takes rest there at night time. At night, while he is asleep, he slips down 1 km backwards because the mountain is inclined. Then how many days does it take him to reach the mountain top?

Answer:

51days (if he slipped only 1 day)

100days if every night he slips back)

Step-by-step explanation:

CONDITION 1

One day he climbs 2km

but 1 day he slipped 1km

100/2=50days,

but he slipped 1km which he will walk the next day therefore 51days

CONDITION 2

If every day he slips back then it means every day he proceeds only 1km and therefore he will take 100days.

hope it helps:)
