Let the present age of son = x years.
So the father's present age = 4x years.
After 4 years ,
Father's age = (4x + 4) years
Son's age = (x + 4) years.

A/Q,
4x + 4 = 3(x + 4)
Or, 4x + 4 = 3x + 12
Or, 4x - 3x = 12 - 4
Or, x = 8
So the present age of son = x = 8 yrs.
And present age of the man/father = 4x = 4*8 = 32 yrs.
