A man is running up the hill with the velocity (2i^ +3j^) m/s w. r. t ground. He feels that the rain drops are falling vertically with a velocity 4m/s. If he runs down the hill with same speed, find velocity of rain w. r. t man.

Hello Dear,

◆ Answer -

v = √29 m/s

◆ Explaination -

# Given -

vm = 2i + 3j m/s

vr = 4 m/s

# Solution -

Magnitude of velocity of man is -

vm = √(2² + 3²)

vm = √(4 + 9)

vm = √13 m/s

Velocity of rain w.r.t. man is -

v = √(vr² + vm²)

v = √(4² + √13²)

v = √(16 + 13)

v = √29 m/s

Therefore, velocity of rain w.r.t. man is √29 m/s.

Thanks dear...
